Summer Essential

In the summer, I am a culprit of having plain water with me but not drinking near enough of it, frankly because plain water gets boring. To curb this issue I have tested MANY different electrolyte drinks, powders and potions. One of my favorite brands is Nuun. Nuun is an effervescent tablet that dissolves in your water bottle. There are so many different flavors and Nuun also makes tablets with 80mg of caffeine if you need an extra boost. Now if you’re not into the effervescent water thing and you prefer more of a sports drink, then I suggest Body Armour Lyte. It tastes more like a traditional sports drink but no artificial sweeteners, low calorie and low sugar. The other benefit is that both of these products are easily accessible at places like Target, Costco and Amazon.

Podcast Episode I Love

I love listening to podcasts while I drive and The Tim Ferriss Show is my go-to podcast. Tim interviews top performers in all different fields such as scientists, artists, meditation teachers and more. Episode #571 Boyd Varty- The Lion Tracker’s Guide to Life is an episode I can listen to over and over and each time I listen, I hear something new and invigorating. Boyd is an incredible story teller and he will have you laughing hysterically one moment and the next moment pondering your inner workings as a human. That being said, there are many things you can take away from this episode that can help you on your journey on, and off the horse.

You can find this episode anywhere you listen to podcasts such as Spotify or Apple Podcasts.

Video To Reflect On

If someone asked me who would you want to work with in the future, hands down I would say Alizée Froment. I love her creative and playful approach with the horses and I think there is a real benefit to this type of training. She speaks to the child within us that first fell in love with horses and there is something so beautiful and natural about that. You can find lots of content from Alizée on the internet but in this video Alizée discusses the discovery of new ideas and the struggle with her horse Sultan. Pay attention to the fact that she says, “Working, trying, making some mistakes, trying again...” For me, this video is a reminder to stay open to new ideas and that making mistakes is a good thing that leads you to different ideas and concepts.
