WHOOP

I recently purchased a WHOOP device and I am super excited about it. This wearable device tracks your sleep, strain (workouts/movement) and recovery. It has many other features that I find super helpful like the journal to keep track of things like alcohol intake, meditation and more. The journal is really simple to fill out every day and only takes a few minutes. The WHOOP also wirelessly charges so you can keep wearing it while it charges. If you are looking for a wearable that doesn’t have a screen and is super easy to use, check out the WHOOP.

Blanketing Tips

I handle many horses per week and there are a few things that I notice some people still are not mindful about when putting blankets on their horses. It is important to keep the clips of your blanket facing inward so they don’t get caught on things. See the picture in the facebook link to see what I am talking about. The other thing is belly straps and leg straps. Make sure if your belly straps are attached at an angle, then the straps should be crossed under the belly, if the belly straps are sewed on straight then they are meant to be straight under the belly. Leg straps should be attached like the picture below. All of these precautions ensure your horse will not get caught or end up with a twisted blanket.

Barn Organization

If you know me, you know I love organization. Barns have the ability to become cluttered and messy pretty quickly and so whenever I see a barn organizing idea, I am all over it. This stall set up is genius. Each horse has a mini locker by their stall which is so helpful for medications, sprays and halters. The outside of the stall is clutter free which makes the barn aisle clean while still having everything you need at your fingertips. If you are building a barn, you should highly consider doing something similar to this and even if you’re not building a barn, check it out because you’re going to want this some day.
