Can You Spot the Lameness?

I often hear the phrase, “I am not good at that” when someone is asked if they can see a lameness on a horse they are watching. Developing your eye to not only detect lameness but also identify which limb is lame is an important skill for any horse owner but did you know there are some tips and tricks to be sure of what you’re seeing? Below is an Instagram reel from Dr Nadine Lindblom who is not only a vet but also a very skilled horsewoman. Her page is filled with lots of great content and if you are more of a Facebook person, she is on there as well but this reel is only on her Instagram. Be sure to read the caption and save it so you can come back to it at any time.

Heated Seats

I was recently at a clinic in an unheated barn and I can tell you sitting on your bum for 6 hours gets pretty chilly no matter how many layers you have on. Most of us have seen heated vests and you probably have used hand and toe warmers but have you ever seen a heated stadium seat before? There are many options out there but most of them run off of an external battery pack that you recharge. I have used a heated blanket before but I need a plug in and most times an extension cord as well. This would make a great gift for trainers, mothers (hockey/soccer games, riding arenas, etc) or someone who doesn’t have heated seats in their car. I hate to send you to Amazon but alas, everyone knows how to use it and you can find the exact seat cushion that works for you. I have listed two below as a few options to check out.
