CALYSE
I found CALYSE originally on Instagram and I immediately became obsessed with her designs. She is an artist who sources sustainable or otherwise thrown away leather scraps, saddles and hides. Most of her work is done with recycled saddles and tack that would otherwise be forgotten. Her ready to ship bags are stunning but if you have an old or sentimental saddle at home, she can also make you a bag from your own saddle, english or western. What a beautiful way to repurpose a saddle and give it new life. Be sure to check out her website with designs and the premade bags she has sold. I have a few saddles from my grandfather, if I can decide on a style I would love to make a bag from one of them.
Essential Oils For Horse and Rider
Every day before going to the barn, I put an essential oil blend made by The Infused Equestrian on my wrists. On my Favorite Finds 15, I shared The Infused Equestrian and all of their amazing products. Lately I have been thinking about using essential oils with my horses to help with things like relaxation or inflammation. I wasn’t sure how to start incorporating oils so I started doing some research and here are two different articles on using oils with horses. The general consensus on the internet is that you should start with aromatherapy, you need a carrier oil to dilute the essential oil before you could apply topically and you need to use a high quality oil as well. Below are a couple articles if you are curious about using essential oils and I have also included a link for The Infused Equestrian oil blends, the link is for all four of their oils but they are sold separately as well.

Ryan Holiday Short Video and Books
If you don’t know who Ryan Holiday is, I suggest you take a little dive into his work. His books are littered across our house and tend to be of inspiration often. One of our favorite books is called The Daily Stoic, every day there is a short passage from one of the stoic philosophers with a dissection of the passage by Ryan on how you can view life a little differently.
Here is a short Ryan Holiday shared on Youtube about starting where you are at. Hopefully this short little clip inspires you to get out and ride your horse to the best you can, no matter the difficulties you may face. If you find this short inspiring, I encourage you to check out all of Ryan Holiday’s content including his books in the link below.
