The Tried Equestrian- Boot Fit Tip

Have you ever thought about how different boot socks will change the way your boots fit? This video from The Tried Equestrian explains how the thickness of your socks can change your boot size by 1/4 to 1/2 size difference. I personally have a variety of different socks in my equestrian collection, not just for different temperatures but also for this reason. I have a couple different pairs of boots and I have experienced this first hand, they all fit slightly different so alas, you need different socks for different boots. I also had the experience of custom boots not quite fitting correctly and my husband actually suggested different insoles or heel raisers and that was the ticket for making them fit exactly how I wanted. If you have a pair of boots that don’t fit quite right, play around with socks and insoles/heel raisers and see if these little adjustments make the difference!

Deco Pony

I have always loved walking the show grounds and admiring the stall set ups of all the different barns. You will see flashy, sophisticated, classic, fun and everything in between. As I started to play in my head with colors and design for my own business, I found this fabulous company called Deco Pony. On the Deco Pony website, you can customize a la cart items such as stall guards or tack trunk plaques or you can design a set depending on what items you’re looking to make. Everything is beautifully done, made out of an outdoor vinyl so it’s durable and not to mention, everything has great customer reviews. Whether you’re looking for a simple stall guard or a whole set, you can design your dream set up with Deco Pony.

Alternative Riding Shirts

There are an array of fun and beautiful summer riding shirts on the market but sometimes I have a hard time spending $60-$80 for a thin stretchy shirt that will most likely be smeared with dirt or dewormer at some point. There are two alternatives to those expensive sun shirts I want to share with you. One option to those expensive sun shirts are golf shirts. Now golf shirts can be equally expensive depending on where you’re looking but you can also find many generic brands on Amazon or by looking at the sale pages on golf websites. I love golf shirts because they usually are fun colors and patterns and the material is the same as an equestrian brand.

The other option for riding shirts, especially for my trail riding friends are cycling jerseys. And similar to golf shirts, there are a lot of expensive ones on the market but you can definitely find affordable ones too. The best part about cycling jerseys are the pockets. Jerseys have pockets on the low back area for phones, water bottles, etc which is why this is a great option for trail riders! Cycling jerseys are not meant to be tucked in so for anyone that wants a shirt that looks good untucked and does not ride up, most jerseys are going to be your ideal style.

Below are just a few options but if you Google away, you will find a variety of colors, styles and prices.
