Halo Smart Round Corrals
These corrals are ingenious not only for their ability to raise and lower in and out of your arena with a remote but they are also extreme safe compared to the traditional paneled round pens many of us are used to seeing. I myself don’t do a ton of round pen work but the flexibility and safety offered with this system makes me want to yell from the roof tops to anyone who is in the market for a round pen. The video is a little long but be sure to watch how the vinyl round pen is lowered at the push of a button.
Pearl Pod
Mares struggling with heat cycles are nothing new to the conversation about mare maintenance but there is a new product on the market as an alternative to Regu-mate, ovary removal and the more dangerous marble option. Welcome the Pearl Pod. The device contains 3 magnet pods that form a circle in your mare’s uterus and trick her body into thinking she is pregnant. You may be asking how this is any different than the marble technique but in this short article they explain the dangers of using a marble and how the Pearl Pod is a much safer option for mares. If you have a mare or deal with mares, this is a great option to consider for anyone who does not want to deal with Regu-mate.
Gestüt Schloss Amerang
As many of you know, I love dreamy stable tours and this one definitely does not disappoint. Gestüt Schloss Amerang is set in the beautiful Bavarian countryside where they breed PRE horses. The Baroness’s family has been breeding horses for over 200 years but the stables that you see in the video are a more recent build. What I love about the stables are how thoughtful yet cozy the stables feel, even though they are a newer build, they still feel as though they belong with the picturesque castle. Giulia Freifrau von Crailsheim-Larisch runs the stables with a small number of people to help but the foaling and training is done by her. Not only does the barn seem idyllic but so does she, a genuine horsewoman who is passionate about her work. If you find yourself in Germany, you can stay in the castle and tour the stables but for those in Europe, there is an option to bring your own horse along to stay at the stables and use the facility while you stay in the castle.
